Anna Carnick is an American-born, Berlin-based independent writer, editor, and curator. She is cofounder of Anava Projects, a creative agency driven by a strong belief that good design can and should make a positive social impact. Anava Projects supports designers and endeavors that center social and environmental awareness, with the aim of achieving a healthier, more connected, and more equitable world. She is also Design Miami’s Co-Editor-in-Chief and served as Curatorial Director for the most recent Design Miami/ 2023 fair

Carnick has curated and produced a number of design-focused exhibitions and events around the globe—including contributions at esteemed venues such as Milan Design Week (5VIE), Miami Design District, Design Miami/, Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Edit Napoli, and more—all with an emphasis on nurturing emerging talent and community.

She is the author of two books—Nendo: 10/10 and Design Voices—and formerly penned a column called The Gallerist for Icon Design Magazine. Carnick has written for a variety of respected cultural institutions and publications, including Domus, Dazed & Confused, Artsy, Casa Vogue, The New York Times Style Magazine (The Moment), Photo District News, Dwell, and others. Previously, she worked as an editor at Pamono, Aperture Foundation, and Graphis.
